BMW enters Private Jet interior design
BMW Group DesignworksUSA brings a unique approach to design. Born out of the cutting-edge vitality of Southern California's design and car culture, and continually enriching itself with the highest levels of global design expertise, DesignworksUSA has enjoyed thirty-plus years as a leading, award winning strategic design consultancy. This enduring creativity brings enduring value. We especially pride ourselves on our long-term client relationships with a wide range of industry leaders.
I was able to interview the leaders of this unique design team, to get a more clear behind the scenes look into its trend setting design.
1. What was the objective in starting Design Works to enter the Interior Design for Executive jet owners?
Since we had strong expertise in interior design for projects such as trains, buses, trucks, and cars, we felt the natural progression would be to expand into working on jet interiors.
2. What is the process of design conception and implementation, when an owner comes to Design Works?
At this point, our clients have been the aircraft manufacturer rather than the individual jet owners.
3. What is the typical budget needed, when starting a new project or overhaul of an existing plane?
The budget is very much dependant on the client’s needs.
4. What are some design concepts that owners look for, but is not realistic or not allowed due to FAA standards or it would interfere with flight operations of a plane?
Since we design for the aircraft manufacturer rather than the owner, our design concepts are in alignment with FAA standards. We did create a design concept for Boeing Business Jets, where we focused on innovative ideas such as a cinema wall spanning two floors, a translucent floor in the lounge to view the owner’s stored vehicle, and a wellness center rather than FAA standards.
5. Are there specific planes that your design firms specializes in, and if owned a Gulfstream IVSP could I be a client?
Most recently, we worked with Embraer, a Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, on three airplanes: the Phenom 100, a 4-6 passenger plane; the Phenom 300, a 6-8 passenger airplane; and the Legacy 500, a 12 passenger airplane. Currently, we work directly with the aircraft manufacturer rather than individual owners.
6.What is your flagship interior design, that encompasses every notable expression of Design Works and sets it apart from competitors?
Our key interior design project that we are very proud of would be the Embraer Legacy 500. This was an extensive design program involving many departments at DesignworksUSA including: Design Research, Transportation Design, 3D Modeling, Colors, Materials, and Finish, and more. The attention to every last detail is what truly sets it apart from the competitors. For example, we created an elegant fold out table at just the perfect height and width for two people to be able to work on their laptop computers across from each other.
The Master at work!! I am a Concierge!!

I love my job as a concierge, its a lot more pleasurable when you have a gift and a passion for the industry. This week within 20 minutes I received two phone requests.
The first: A private charter departing Los Angeles for Canadas Somerset Island on a Gulfstream IV for a party of 9 adults and 3 dogs.
The Second: A private masseuse delivered to a prestigious resort on the beach for one of our most elite clientele in 1 hour.
This would drive the normal person's blood pressure space high, but when you love what you do, you welcome the challenge.
Until next time!!!

Private jet Enthusiast here is Patricia Damon
Q.
So Patricia, what is the private jet lifestyle in your opinion, and what makes it so desirable that the elite clientele won’t travel any other way?
A.
“The private jet lifestyle is all about time efficiency, comfort, and traveling on your schedule and not having to worry with the complexities that are often involved with commercial airports. Even today, it’s not uncommon to see middle management flying charter now, with the realities involved when traveling that require corporations to purchase airplane tickets, overnight hotel accommodations, rental cars, per diems, etc. It’s truly more cost effective to fly privately, which allows you more destinations in less time, and you can even return home the same day before dinner.
Q.
What is RejuvenAir, and what does it add specifically to the amenities offered aboard private jets?
A.
After realizing the need to provide passengers who fly on board private jets with quality skin care programs, I have designed a one-of-a-kind in-flight spa service. Our staff members are trained in CPR and have completed flight attendant training at FlightSafety International, which means you don’t need to hire an additional flight attendant when there’s only room for one crewmember in the cabin.
Q.
How did the vision come to life concerning rejuvenairspa and its services offered?
A.
RejuvenAir is an idea born out of my passion in medical and spa therapy—for people who travel on private business jets that demand luxurious, exclusive in-flight spa services. Our worldwide spa treatments, using the highest quality products, will leave you feeling refreshed, healthy and looking your very best. When you step off of your private jet, you’ll be at the top of your game—whether it’s for business, pleasure or both.
Q.
What services can clients expect to receive when it comes arranging to have your services with their private jet experience?
A.
ReuvenAir’s menu offers services such as:
Absolute Altitude: Riched with crushed pearl powder from the Far East and combined with the powers of the artic berry seed extract; this illuminating, oxygenating treatment stimulates circulation and cellular activity—creating a supple and long-lasting glow to your skin.
Mens Restorative Facial: Swiss glacier water and malachite extract create an active and restoring treatment for men on the go. This refreshing and restorative facial sooths away the effects of environmental stress and frequent flying. For men who want healthier looking skin and a relaxed, vital mind, this high-performance facial is sure to do the trick.
We also offer Blooming Sumptuous Lips, Supreme Eyes for her and him, and Red Eye: All of our treatments include a relaxing face, neck and upper body massage. Our staff focuses on the modalities of lymphatic drainage, ensuring that you never feel the harsh effects of flying.
Q.
How does one go about arranging to have your services aboard their private jet?
A.
You can contact our office first. It's important that we obtain initial information so we can best serve your needs for spa services on board a private jet. RejuvenAir Inc. P.O. Box 93, Boulder, CO 80306 Tel: 303.902.1800

Q.
What is your favorite part of the private jet lifestyle, and do you have a special jet that you prefer?
A.
“The on demand service, the ability to fly when I want to, it’s all of the above with me. As for having a special private jet it depends on the mission, if you are looking for speed it could be the Cessna Citation X. If you want a luxurious and spacious cabin it may be the Gulfstream 550, Dassault Falcon 900, or the Challenger 604.If you are looking to host a long range business trip with a large party it could be the BBJ or Airbus.” It’s really based on the mission”
Q.
If there was one word you would have to use to sum up the private jet lifestyle, what would that be?
A.
“Heaven”

Abu Dhabi opens private jet airport
Plans to convert the Al Bateen military airport for commercial use came as Etihad, the Abu Dhabi state airline, revealed an order for 100 aircraft worth $20 billion at list prices.
Al Bateen is 10km from Abu Dhabi’s business district and will offer separate VIP and VVIP facilities. It will be run by the country’s airport authority and is designed to cater for the UAE capital’s ambitions to become a major business and tourism destination.
“It will be the only dedicated airport of its kind in the Middle East – there is huge growth in this sector in the Gulf, particularly in Abu Dhabi, where we have to cater for businesses that are springing up,” said an Abu Dhabi airport spokesman.
Feature Resort of the Month

Orlando Grande Lakes
It begins with the two most respected names in hospitality on 500 tailored acres in the heart of a pristine nature preserve. A combined total of 1,584 richly appointed guest rooms and suites. More than a quarter-million square feet of flexible meeting space, indoors and outdoors. And, the pleasures of Orlando just moments away.
This is what happens when The Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott weave their refreshing luxury into one remarkable destination. The Breakfast buffet at the Citron Brasserie is by far the most decadent dining I've experienced in a resort. When in Orlando this is my choice for stay. The Ritz Carlton valet knows you by name when you arrive. It's amazing and it's my choice for the Best stay in Orlando
